All vehicle rentals in Aviemore are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, charges, and your obligations for the rental period. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Aviemore, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type, with extra fees for drivers under 25. A valid driving licence for the appropriate vehicle category is required, held for the minimum duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Please ensure you meet any other criteria mentioned in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Aviemore office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£), inclusive of VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection in Aviemore, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document its state. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will be your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. Please check your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for precise information. Late cancellations or failure to show may incur additional fees.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for illegal activities or purposes. Activities such as racing, off-roading, or any other dangerous driving are prohibited. Transporting hazardous materials is strictly forbidden. Sub-letting the vehicle, allowing unauthorized drivers, or using it under the influence of alcohol or drugs is not permitted. Adhering to passenger and weight limits is required, as is staying within the designated geographical area.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire in Aviemore is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, stemming from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount paid in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
